Cops tighten realty net

RANCHI:Ranchi police is now going for the kill in the ongoing realty scam, netting big fish such as builders and their relatives.

On Sunday night, the police had picked Vishnu Gupta, brother of key accused Shyam Kishore Gupta, the director of Sanjeevani Buildcon, from his Patratu home. On Monday, police forwarded builder Ramesh Sahu, not connected to either of the two big-ticket Sanjeevani Buildcon or Samridhhi Creative Pvt Ltd, but to another ‘fraud’ firm, to jail.

Sahu, who had developed Lalpur-based Sardamayi Apartment and sold to customers, is accused of taking a bank loan in exchange of the land and not repaying it. The bank had, in turn, sent a notice to the owners of the flats in this apartment, prompting the latter to lodge complaints with Lalpur police.

Lalpur police station officer-in-charge Venkatesh Prasad confirmed that Sahu was forwarded to jail on Monday morning.

Vishnu, on the other hand, is not directly accused.

A joint team of Ranchi and Patratu police picked him from his home to get information about his brother, Shyam Kishore, who is absconding. He is still being questioned.

On Sunday, two FIRs were lodged in Ormanjhi police station against Sanjeevani Buildcon and Samridhhi Creative related to the ongoing real estate scam that has ruined many middle class families. Both the companies have allegedly duped over a 100 people to the tune of crores. But, no fresh FIR has been lodged in the police stations of the capital on Monday.

On Sunday, P.K. Dasgupta lodged the FIR against Samridhhi officials, including its chief executive officer Nagendra Thakur and three more associates Gautam Singh, Naveen Kumar and Rohan Kumar.

New victims filed a joint FIR against Sanjeevani Buildcon MD J.D. Nandi, director Shyam Kishore Gupta and others. The owners of realty firms are absconding.
