IPSOWA Diwali fair from Friday

Ranchi: Many colours of India will be seen at the IPS Officers' Wives Association (IPSOWA)Diwali Mela 2011 which will be held from October 21-24 at JAP-1 ground in Doranda.

A total of 101 stalls will be put up from various states like West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir displaying clothes, jewellery and other utility items.

The fair will be inaugurated by chief minister Arjun Munda at 5 pm in which his wife Meera will be the special guest. On this occasion, a souvenir, "Prayas", will also be released by the chief minister.

Various quizzes and competitions will be organized by IPSOWA during the fair and the winners will be awarded. Cultural programs will also be organized for the entertainment of the visitors and a "hasya kavi sammelan" will be the main attraction of the fair.

IPSOWA president Pamela Rath says, "On October 12, dependents of policemen have been provided with a sum of Rs 16,69,000 in the form of scholarship. A health camp was also organized in September by IPSOWA."
